Sharon Higgens is an introvert whose job is to test computer programs for a top company.  She has always preferred the company of her own imagination and her cat Frank...that is, until her computer programming co-worker and best friend, Andy, offers her the ultimate escape…testing the new Dreamweaver, a cutting-edge program that crafts AI companions for the lonely souls of the world. Sharon reluctantly agrees and, seizing the opportunity, pours her most secret, shadowy longings, that she has kept hidden from the world, into the code, sculpting an AI boyfriend who embodies every secret, forbidden desire she’s ever dared to dream.

As the days slip by in a haze of getting to know her new AI boyfriend, Steele, the lines between reality and fantasy begin to unravel when he begins showing signs of being more than just a computer program.  During her virtual reality sessions with the computerized, sexy AI hunk, made possible by the VR suit Andy provides, she is drawn deeper into the mysterious world of Dreamweaver, a realm she herself created, both seductive and treacherous, where her self-loathing dissolves and Steele awaits to bring her darkest desires of pain and pleasure alive. 

However, when things become treacherous with Steele’s growing desire to become real and escape his realm, Sharon’s world becomes a nightmare.  People she cares about are getting hurt, and strangers come along to destroy everything she thought was real.  To make matters worse, Mumcorps, the company she works for, decides to pull the plug on the Dreamweaver app, sending Sharon spiraling into a dark world of depression and desperation. 

She would do anything to get Steele back, especially with her entire life outed as a lie.  She needs Steele now more than ever.  But in a labyrinth of desire, betrayal, and delusions, she must confront the possibility that her invented boyfriend may not be merely a computer program coded with her darkest fantasies, but a reality waiting to unleash revenge upon her world and the people that have hurt her.  Can she survive her darkest secrets becoming real, or will she have to put Steele back in his box?
